Odyssey wombolt cranks (Mc Rib buster)

reveiw-headline.gif
Well I first want to say that I'am a big fan of odyssey bmx. I think they are very forward thinking and have great ideas and a great image. With that said, I was sorely disappointed with the Wombolt cranks. When I first heard and read about them I was compeletly sold. I thought, man that's a great design. The wombolts are lighter than your traditional profile cranks with a ti spindle for a slightly reasonable price. The problem is that, I have gone through 2 pairs in less than a year. I hate to say it but I am not a heavy dude and I am not that hard on a bike in my opinion. I'm sure others could agree with that. The first set did snap on a sizable trick a rail 180, maybe a 6 stair into the grass. Luckily they just cracked and twisted around so I made out pretty good. The second time I was not so lucky. I had been riding all day off and on in Jackson with Brock and Rory. We ended up stopping and riding X-plex on our way home for a little while until my cranks snapped on a drop in, which liked to kill me. It was one of those dropins where you kind of crank and hop in and pump as hard as you can so you can have all the speed you need for a nice air. The cranks snapped and I ended up flopping my ribs onto my tire and from there just struggled to breath for a while. I thought I had broke or cracked some ribs or some how busted some internal guts. So the moral of the story, please do not buy "wombreaks" unless you have no problem with dying. I am happily riding profiles now and I have never personly broke a set of profiles. I have even had pairs that were at least 5 yrs old with no problems.

p.s. I have to thank mid city bikes for helping me with all my bike problems. Make sure to check those dudes out.And Hasslehoff you were def right about the whole wombreak thing.

TREE PEG OR "TRICK STICK"

peg1.jpg

Tree bicycle trick stick.
Here's the spec's:
1. Full 7075 aluminum 2. Weight in at 3.5 oz 3. Assorted colors like blue, black, gold, and green 4. They are designed for skate park riding. 5. I believe they are also U.S. made, which is awesome.

Well hmmmm where to start.....I have had mine for a few months now and I ride street probably 95% of the time and have found these to be just fine. First off they are aluminum which sounds retarded for a peg, but man do they grind great, especially compared to ti pegs. I have to be honest though... I do not grind stuff that is rough or sticky so thats definatly helped the life of my "trick stick."

Price wise: they are a lil' up there, but I believe they are worth it for the colors and the weight saving. If the tree pegs are in your budget and you want some cool colors or shave some weight, these are for you.

I PHONE REVIEW BY THE HOFF

When the iphone came out, I never thought I was actually ever going to get one. But my birthday came around and Momma Deuce hooked it up and paid for half so I was stoked. Thanks mom.
Here is a little top/worst 6 thing I whipped up real quick.

TOP 6
1. youtube and videos... endless entertainment!
2. the camera takes awesome pictures.
3. when people aske to play with it I get to say " it's called and iphone not and US phone!" get it??
4. headphones with the mic are soooo good!
5. all touch screen
6. internet. anytime. anywhere.

WORST 6
1. can't mass text message... WTF!
2. freaking out when I cant find it cause I think I lost it.
3. not being able to get/send pics in text messages.
4. battery not so good... but I play with it all the time so if I just used it like a normal phone i'm sure it would last 4 times longer.
5. no AIM or ichat
6. the price was killer but worth every penny.

Apple and random Apple geeks are coming out with different applicatons and software for the phone which make it just like a computer. You can download games, books, a GPS thing, thesarus, and even access your computer at home from it(defgrip.net) and all kinds of other dorky goodness. I just hope I never break it seeing that I have no insurance on it.

SHOE REVEIW

DSCF1468.JPG

TOP 5
1. I picked them up for 70 bucks which I thought was pretty good for shoes
2. Lightweight and still very grippy
3. They come in 4 different colors, low and mid styles shoes. Sweet!
4. Really comfortable! I almost forget they are on after I'm done riding
5. Really comfortable again. Like the most comfortable shoes I've ever bought

Worst 5
1. Super thin bottom. You can feel every pin in your pedal and I'm not that into that
2. The hole on the right side of the left shoe. I dont know what its from but it happened maybe 2 months into riding in them. Maybe catching tailwhips?? I dont know but it sucks and I could fit 3 fingers in the side of my shoe.
3. The inside also fell apart pretty fast and kinda bummed me out.
4. I got the low top style shoes so there isn't alot of ankle support. I guess you could get the mid top ones if that bothers you that much.
5. There arent 5 things bad about this shoe.

Overall
I know these shoes are made for skating but I went ahead and got them because I heard good things and the shoes were somewhat cheap. They were amazing the first 2 months that I had them. After that, they kinda started to get real loose and fall apart in places. Suede rips kind of easy which i found out with these bad boys. If you like shoes that aren't very bulky and do the bare minimum of protection and support, these shoes are awesome. I'm more of a big, stiff, bulky shoe kinda guy if im riding my BMX. I give them a 7 for riding and a 9 if I was just chillin' or walking in them. PEACE!

odyssey plastic twisted pedal REVEIW.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Well this is are first product reveiw. I don't know if I should be doing this on something cooler like an iphone or an ice chest for beer holding, but I got cheap pedals so here we go. First I want to say that I previously had Ruben Fly pedals which if you don't know cost 12 to 13 times as much as the odyssey pc twisted pedals. The Ruben Pedals were great for about 10 months or so until the spindle snapped clean in half. After that, I opted to get something on the polar opposite end (as in way cheaper),unsealed, and some what lighter. I picked these bad boys up for about 9.99 which was awesome compared to 100.00 bucks. The first thing I noticed was that the odyssey pedal really craddled your foot with its concave, which I love. The odyssey pedals also have plastic pins molded on them, which I guess is not to good because you can not replace them after time. However the pedals are pretty grippy and I think odyssey is going to address that issue with there next pc pedals. I also have to mention how well they slide for pedal grinds. The pedals are really fast. I have only done one pedal grind and it was out of control fast and half of my pins were gone.It was more of a curiousity thing, I usually do not pedal grind so the plastic pins are fine for me. In a 1 out of 10 rating I would have to rate the pedals at a high 7.5. I've been riding my pedals for almost 5 months and have been completely satisfied. I may never ride straight metal pedals again. The odyssey pedals are cheap, light, have a great concave, and are fairly grippy. I can't wait for the PC Jim Cielencki pedals.
